Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I am a 74 year old widowed woman who had the interior of my mobile home painted with Valspars Tender Twig primer/paint (2 coats). On the 3 walls that face the sun, an annomolly happened where the paint on the walls faded UNDER the pictures that are hanging on the walls. I contacted the company that sold it to me who referred me to the company Valspar directly. I have spoken with their Territory Manager (Tom Martinez) who came out and took pictures of my walls that were affected. Tom directed me to the Regional Manager (Christian Evangalista) who offered to pay for the paint I had bought and replacement paint. This is unacceptable. I paid $1,200.00 to have the interior painted plus the cost of the paint. I am no longer interested in using Valspar Paint because it is not reliable. I have requested that Valspar pay $350.00 for labor and then new paint to have the 3 walls repainted ---- they said no. I spoke with customer service and then with Samantha Sutton (administrative assistant to the CEO Gary Hendrickson) as well as Tom Dunn who supposedly is the decision maker of the company. They all stated (except Samantha) that they would not pay for the labor but would pay for new paint and reimburse for the old paint. So, I, being 74 years old and on a very strict Social Security income cannot pay to have the mobile home walls painted. I am requesting that this be resolved to my satisfaction as I am unable to redecorate anything on my walls due to their paint. Nobody in the company seems to care or is willing to satisfy a customer in great need. I am not sleeping well and am constantly upset every time I look at my walls. This has been a 2 month battle and I am finished with taking this on by myself. I am looking to the Better Business Bureau to help resolve this. I am extremely unhappy and becoming ill because of this problem. Please help in any way you can."

Message from Valspar Paint Corp: Valspar has offered to reimburse Ms. Denton per the warranty even though no product defect was determined. In a gesture of goodwill, Valspar has offered to supply replacement product of the original purchase value at no charge in addition to the reimbursement of the original purchase.
