"She said I was a delinquent tax payer which I am not, which resulted in my being canceled from future Renaissance festivals owned by this one company I have been participating with for more than 30 years. This slander was shared between the festival's owner, the tax agent and at least this one crafts coordinator, and possibly more. In an earlier incident this sort of slander was shared to me by a different crafts coordinator about another vendor, which resulted in that vendor being kicked out and my being allowed to rent her booth; this implies common technique.

I was never allowed to speak directly with the festival owner ro explain, but only heard from this person thru email."

  • Over the last 4 years since they kicked me out I have applied to a number of other renaissance festivals, I never heard back from a single one. Now I know why. I've been black listed. For a lie. I am not tax delinquent. What did I do to deserve this prejudicial treatment after 44 years of doing fairs. I'm dedicated to this lifestyle. Are you trying to ruin my life? your slander has blocked me out of doing the only thing I've ever done. My pride in my artwork and my business is my whole life. I've sacrifice family, friends, parties, city life, to do this work. I am one of the top rated female woodworkers in the world, I was #1 crochet hook seller on etsy. For the last 4 years I've been suicidally depressed by your accusations of being a delinquent tax payer when being honest and keeping this business running taxes paid in multiple states for 44 years has been the pride of my life. Your slander is deeply insulting and wounds me terribly. That you've told other people this falsehood in a business where the opinion of others weighs very strongly, I am horrified by your behavior as representative, when you are supposed to be holding the best interests of your vendors.

  • Treadwell answered my first email after that day the agent came in, with " you have to pay your taxes". Then I sent her the email from the tax agent saying that it was not a bill, only an estimate for later, and I did not owe taxes, Treadwell, no one at the office, answered, so this is my only recourse. They maintain I am a delinquent tax payer and refuse my participation n their 2 festivals, have most likely blocked me with slander from doing other festivals, despite the fact the tax agent herself said I was not delinquent.
