Claimant says:
"I gave EASTCOAST roofing the job because they had the lowest price to do my roof job they came out and did the roofing it seem to be going well my home was built in 1920 I believe the back side just above the upper gutter the boards was badly warped and should have been replaced with plywood but that's ware it went bad they didn't do any thing their and just nailed right over that bad wood and any one can see the hold that is open I can not sell with roof looking like this the rest of the roof is good

  • We received the signed contract from Mr. Jones on 10/17/16 and completed the installation by 11/1/16. Our project manager confirmed we did replace several sheets of plywood in the area Mr. Jones stated we "nailed right over bad wood." The building inspector for Pleasantville checked Mr. Jones' roof and it passed inspection, which means it was installed correctly. The "warped wood" is actually an elevation change as a result of the home settling, possibly due to the age of the home. (1920) Unless a rafter is rotted or broken we do not need to replace it as it won't jeopardize the integrity of the roof. We do not want any customer to be dissatisfied so we would like to resolve this. Keep in mind as far as selling his home, Mr. Jones was given a System Plus warranty which can only be offered from a GAF certified contractor (We are a Master Elite) and it gives the roof a 50 year non-prorated factory warranty with a 130 mph wind rating. This can be transferred to the new owner.
