Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"The Danbury Mint Company sent unsolicited publications/adverstisements to my private address that said mine and my EX husband's names on jewelry and said "together forever". I got a divorce in 2010 and it was a very traumatic ordeal. I was sick with no money and no way to support myself or my children and I didn't know if I would survive it. It has been years since the divorce and I was beginning to be okay and move on. Getting those brochures with hearts bearing our names brought up a flood of sad feelings, memories, and opened it all up like a fresh wound. I've been unable to get out of bed some mornings, I've been missing more work and I have ever missed, and I am emotionally unstable due to anxiety and not being able to get the marriage and the breakup out of my mind. I think it was very careless, irresponsible, and negligent to send this type of thing to someone who did not request it in any way and also to send it with names of people who have never received mail at that address. (I obtained the P O Box after the divorce so he never had access to nor used that address) The person's name that they are putting on their mail could be dead or totally out of the picture and they're bringing up hurtful memories and throwing someone in a tailspin of emotions. It's unprofessional, unfair, and in my case an unhealthy safety hazard to my heart and mental health. I would like to seek monetary damages for negligent emotional distress and request that they stop sending any mail to me unless I request it. Also, they may want to consider doing a little more research before they send someone else mail such as they sent me."
