"I went on line, curious about the copper chef XL. I started on the order to find out exactly how much it would be. I went through the process of looking at the offer and even went so far as to see if you ordered a second one, "A special offer" what it would be... decided not to completer the order and closed the screen. But a few days latter both XL showed up at my door. I had not completed the order so I called customer service to return them. I was politely offered a $30.00 discount to keep them. I said no as they were too expensive and I hadn't intended to order after seeing the price. After all their offer was one could try it with no obligation for 30 days and return it if you were unhappy. Okay, since I had not intended or did I, complete the order after seeing the over $200.00 cost and was surprised they arrived anyway, why do I have to pay the shipping both ways and handling fees? Thar's the offer so yes I am complaining loudly."

  • Have you previously ordered from Copper Chef? They would not have had your credit card number unless you'd previously ordered, and would not have sent the items.

    If you haven't previously ordered, and you entered your credit card number, code, expiration date, name and address, and then pressed submit, even if you closed your screen out immediately then the order would have gone through. You should have received a confirmation email and you'd have been able to cancel if it was a real error. I'm not familiar with Copper Chef in particular, but I frequently order online and the process is always the same. I'd suggest asking Copper Chef to forward the confirmation email and also checking your spam filter to see if it went there.

    A very few online merchants like Lands End offer free return shipping but most don't, unless it's an exchange. Why would they? how much was the shipping and handling? If it was a reasonable amount - say $20 or less each way, but I'm guessing; you'd only know if you took the box and paid for it yourself - then I'm afraid you don't have much of a case. If the shipping was UNreasonable then that might be different.
