Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"Last May 15th I purchased two recliners from Slumberland Furniture. Within a few weeks we realized there were several problems with the design of the chair but due to the start up of my own retail business (May 2nd) and participation in an upcoming Arts Guild House Walk I did not have time to deal with the flaws so we adapted and dealt with the problems on our own until the footrest fell off of one for the third time and I had had my fill. The other design flaws are the top of the footrest has no padding over it making it extremely uncomfortable for the back of our legs. We had adapted this by keeping a large ugly pillow over the footrest of both chairs. The final flaw is that we are unable to keep the chairs reclined without creeping way up on the back to the point that you feel like the chair is going to tip over backwards. This position makes you arch your back and the slightest movement flips you back to the more upright position. I notified the company when the footrest fell the third time as I felt it was ridiculous, they were only eight months old. I had to pay $35 for the technician to come to my home. Both times he took a few pictures and left without attaching the footrest. Months have passed and I finally received a message on my phone today indicating they did not intend to do anything at all.

    "We apologize the customer is not satisfied with their recliners. There are no defects present in the recliners. This is the way they were designed by the manufacturer. Slumberland has sent out an independent technician to inspect/repair the chairs. The technician confirmed that no defects are present. This is the style of these chairs. We are not able to offer the customer a refund on the chairs as there is no defect and the customer is outside of their 30 Day Total Satisfaction period.
    "
