Claimant says:
"Back in September 2017 we conracted Bennet masonry to redo our deck and build on a two car garage. They told us it would take 4 weeks. He started the work and we gave him a deposit. he started the job and we got a footer and a concrete floor for the garage. In the contract he stated we would have a 100% smooth floor. the floor dried so fast that now when you sweep it there is a white dust that keeps coming off of it. and it is sou rough it holds water and we were told by another concrete person that the best way to fix the floor is to tear it up and pour new because it is unfixable. we had a small delay as we needed to get a zoning permit. We told him when it would be done and he said he would be here next day after we called to confirm it passed. He has only been here a couple of time since and has sent his uncle once to start the deck. Which that too had to be redone by him because his uncle screwed it up. It He has asked for more money to do more work and we have given it to him and no more work has been done nor have we had any supplies delivered. we have called him multiple time and he always has an excuse. Or he has another job. He now has $18,000/00 of our money and we only have about $4,000 worth of work complete. we also told him we wanted vinyl railing on our deck and he is now telling us that is too expensive that we would have to buy that over and above what we have already paid him. And all of this is in our contract. We would just like to get our money back so that we can get someone here that really knows what they are doing. It is now almost 9 months and we have no railing on our deck and all we have is the footer and floor to our garage and no walls The car I have owned for 12 years has set out all winter. It has never been out of the garage in bad weather."
