Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"i AM APPALLED BY THE TREATMENT I GOT FROM PATRICK hYUNDAI WHERE I WENT TO PURCHASE A USED CAR FOR MY DISABLED SISTER , SO SHE COULD GET TO HER DOCTORS APPOINTMENTS. i WENT ONLINE AND LOOKED AT CARS AND THEY JUST HAPPENED TO HAVE SEVERAL DIFFERENT CARS IN HER PRICE RANGE. i LOOKED UP THE DEALERS RATINGS ON LINE AND THEY GOT PRETTY GOOD REVIEWS SO I FIGURED THEY WOULD BE REPUTABLE. well We went over and looked at some cars, but i didnt care for any of them until i saw this one car that had low miles and was in her price range.we called to see if the car was available and they said yes and asked when we would be coming. When we got there they had the car out front waiting for us. THE SALESMEN WERE ALL REAL FRIENDLY , AND WE WERE GREETED BY ONE GENTLEMAN WHO SHOWED US THE CAR AND TOLD US TO TAKE IT FOR A TEST DRIVE. we took the car out and it drove real nice and was super clean. Well we decided to purchase the car and finance it thru the dealer. I went ahead and put the car in my name because she has not much money being on disability. well the process of getting the loan took a long time and when i finally met with the loan office he was in a hurry and didnt bother explaining everything , and to top it off he sold me gap insurance for $800.00 which was a ripoff but i didnt read the fine print until i got home. We didnt take the car that night but came back saturday to get the car and again they were real persistent about knowing when we were coming so the car would be warmed up.well the next day i go out to start the car and it wont start and i couldnt get it to run all weekend. I called the dealership on monday and talked to our salesman . He told us to bring the car back and they would look at it in the service dept. well we left the car there for a few days and someone from the service dept called saying we checked the alternator , the battery and starter and nothing was wrong.Our salesman told us to come get the car. because they found nothing wrong.I knew something else was wrong so we tried contacting the dealer to talk to a manager but no one ever called us back so we contacted our salesman and he told us to drive it around because the service dept didnt find nothing wrong and maybe it will be just fine. THIS car had a problem when it left the dealership and they knew it which is why they always had it running when ever we came. They deceived me because if i would have started the car when cold and it didnt start i would have never bought it. they just wanted to unload it knowing it was a costly repair. and now my sister who is on disability can not afford to fix it. someone sold it off knowing it didnt run. and the dealership was real nice to us but as soon as they got my money they were like see you later suckers. I had a couple of mechanics look at it and they knew from starting it what was wrong, so they knew what its problem was. I was so angry that no one would even talk to me or even try to help us out. after all they deceived us about the fact that it wouldnt start. I have never been so ignored by a dealership, even after several times of requesting a return phone call. i had left many messages with them and still nothing. after all the car can not be driven by my sister because she can't afford to be stranded out there being disabled. My mechanic looked at it and knew right away that it was the fuel pump when they kept saying it was the it was the battery . well i have not gotten any satisfaction from them because no one will ever return my calls. they should have fixed the problem or sold the car for less. I have been deceived and ripped off by this company and they have not offered any resolution to the problem. So now i am paying for a car that isnt safe to drive i know there are risks in buying used but they didnt have to take advantage of us after all we gave them our money in good faith and they did nothing but take our money and run. after all any descent mechanic would have known it was a fuel problem and not electrical. its just that once the car is running you would never know it had a problem just from a cold start. Look we are not made of money which is why we had to by used and i know it is risky to buy used but we would have figured that they would stand behind there name. if i could afford new then i would at least have a new cz
but she doesnt have that kind of money to pay for a car . we just needed something that she could drive around town. now i dont feel good about the car i bought because i have to wonder what else is wrong with it. THEY CLAIMED THEY CHECKED it out but they were dishonest about that otherwise the car would have never left the lot. see this is not a problem that just showed up after driving it for awhile it showed up just like that. and it was easily diagnosed so i am 100% sure they knew it was there. after all the car wont start after sitting so it you try from a cold start you would know it was there. THis was different because it was there and they took great care into making sure that they knew when we were coming so the car was already warmed up just so we wouldnt see that it had difficulty starting . I went into this dealership to purchase a car and know the risks of buying used but i figured that since they were a large dealership they would help you out. I simply wouldnt be having this problem if they would have disclosed that the car had a problem then we wouldnt be in the spot we are in. I feel they were dishonest and feel they should fix the problem or take the car back. They simply wanted to unload the car and once they did they made sure no one was available to speak to us. I want this resolved so my sister can drive her car safely, This was a huge mistake to buy from them but to late cant go back but i just feel that they have caused my sister extra distress because we were ripped off and she is stuck with a useless car, i believe if i would have bought from someone else they would at least have tried to resolve the issue. and the worst part is taking advantage of a disabled person who was just wanting a nice car she could drive."
