Claimant says:
"In October of 2015 , I Justina Hernandez financed a 2012 Mini Cooper from Lexis of Englewood. Since then, I have had to bring the vehicle to the Mini Cooper dealership in Ramsey New Jersey for both maintenance check ups and from the vehicle giving me problems. (six times now in total)

Unfortunately in July 2016 the cars warranty did not cover one of the problems costing me over eight hundred dollars.
That was the first time I tried to go back to Lexis in Englewood to show them what was going on with this vehicle. They told me they could not put me in a different car unless I gave them a down payment and started the whole process over. Financially this was something I could not work with.
Due to the high coast it put me in a bad financial situation with me now just recently having to safe the car from repossession. The high cost of repairing the car backed me up on monthly car payments. Sandander bank has tried to help me given the situation but its also starting to effect my other bills.

However, I recently experienced one of the scariest situations I've ever been in. While I was driving to work my car suddenly started to accelerate on its own. The car sped up to almost 90 miles an hour and I was fighting with the break pedal to slow down. The lowest I could get the speed was between 40 and 60 miles an hour until finally I could stop it completely. Once I was able to placed it into "park" and put the emergency break on, the car engine was revving up very loudly causing both an odd smell and some smoke coming from under the hood. I turned the car off and had it towed back to the Mini dealership in Ramsey.

The following day after the car was towed I once again went back to Lexis of Engelwood, and once again they did not want to help me.

As of yesterday (January 24,2017) The Mini dealership informed me that they cannot find the problem.

I am now not only in a financial mess because of this car, but also now terrified to put myself, my son, or anyone else back in that car not knowing when and where this vehicle could possibly do this to me again. If i weren't driving the car so early on a Sunday morning where hardly anyone is on the road I am convinced that anyone else on the road, and myself could seriously be injured or worse.

At this point I fear for my life and just want to fairly be giving a safer vehicle."
