Claimant says:
"They called & wanted to help me sell my timeshare with Coconut Palms & retrieve back the money I had with 5 Stars & another company I have used He assured me they could get my money back. Then he told me Coconut Palms had rented my property out because I hadn't used it. I had gotten Patton Hospitality to rent it but they said they could only rent it for 3 nights & sent me a check a little less than $300.00. He said he had info that they had made more money than that. I paid him $1575. to contract with them. He called me 3-7-16 telling me Coconut Palms had agreed to settle with me because he didn't want me to press charges for $42,225. but I could not speak about it because it could get him in trouble. I could not believe him at first but he was pretty convincing. He would have my check within 2 weeks. Dumb me wrote the check & I haven't been able to get in touch with anyone there since. I have emailed & called. No one will answer but I leave messages. Can you help me? I don't want them scamming anyone else.. Shelby Byrd"

    Another ripoff from Global Transfer. They scammed me to the tune of $2,200.00. Cashed my check in November 2017. Phone me weekly until the last week in January 2018. The reason given was that things were moving slowly and they would keep me informed. I was given the option of keeping in touch with them. I have not heard a word from Global Transfer since January 2018. However, I have phoned them six times since the 27th of February. Each time I must leave a message. Not one phone call has been returned! I say we file a Class Action against Global Transfer. I am certain we are not the only individuals this company has taken for a ride!

  • I am watching a friend of mine go through the same thing with the same company on her timeshares right now. Supposedly Derrick Michael was iat the property doing a face to face negotiation with the property to buy back the weeks and the sales price would be finalized with in a couple days. That was weeks ago

    She paid them several thousand dollars to do get this far and then they said that it would take several thousand more. When my friend said she is on a fixed income, elderly and alone and just couldn't pay any more they said that they would take care of it and get it back on the end of the sale. THEN they told her that the resort would not accept their money that it had to come from my friends account.

    So we called the resort together. They have never heard of this company, had no notes on her file of anyone requesting transfer of ownership package a release of info from my friend for that request, no request for the property info at all and no one had come in to chat about anything with any one from Global Transfers.

    The client services person went over the fees for different possible transactions and none exceeded $300. We asked if there could be any one else on this and she firmly stated that wasn't possible or there would be some sort of notation on my friends account. She however would look into it and make contact if she found anything, but the sales of those weeks are pretty standard practice and do require paperwork in some manner from the property.

    When we called Antonio Morel at Global he gave a song and dance show about nothing that we asked about. then talked as fast as he could about how if we called the resort they would be the liars (why?) and refused to stop talking as fast as possible so we could ask any more questions. When I finally had to yell over his babbling to get him to stop it....he told me to tone it down and then later told my friend how rude I was.

    From his perpective I agree. It is rude to interrupt the scam they have going ripping off old ladies and others to the tune of thousands.

    Can anyone say class action?
