Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"Breach of Contract. Sign a contract with contractor on Feb. 24, 2014. Job was suppose to be finished in 7 days, then changed to 2 weeks, then 3 weeks. Three months and still not finished. Work is not acceptable....Every room has mess ups. Contractor agrees that the work is not acceptable and he was sorry and he would make it right. He blamed the men that worked for him. He wrote up several different contracts and on each one he conveniently
omitted an item and said it wasn't on the contract. I have copies of the contracts and pointed out to him that they were on the contract. On 3/19/2014 He came to me and said he was out of money and couldn't order my counter tops. (The contract stated deposit at start (1/2) and balance when job is completed.) So, I gave him $2000.00 more to go purchase my counter tops for kitchen & bathrooms. (big mistake) He did not order the counter tops until 4/27/2014 and someone dropped it off here sometime around the middle of May. (a couple of his men came 2 weeks or so ago, and installed the counter tops for kitchen & bathrooms.) The kitchen counter top was measured wrong and both bathrooms were missing the splash. He said he couldn't find anything to go on the bar in the kitchen and just left it like it is, even though it was quoted on the contract. They also installed a drop-in sink in the kitchen and in master bath, left both leaking and never come back. The roller shade for sunroom was also measured wrong. (It was ordered May 04/10/2014 & has sit in my living room for a month or longer.) Walk-in shower in master bath not finished, bench in shower doesn't match the tile & floors and he was supposed to replace it. Didn't finish painting ceiling & walls in shower area, vanity not painted, sunroom floor not tiled, wood floors have chips where they tried to force them to lock together, wood does not go under door frames (this is all doors) so they put this black sticking stuff to hide it and now it looks as if the bottom of the door frames are rotten. Ceramic floors in kitchen & bathrooms missing grout and not sealed. I got an e-mail from the contractor on 6/08/2014 stating that he was shutting down his business, that he was done....I haven't talked to him since....He has been paid $7000.00 and all the work he has done is having to be done over. I am retired and on a fixed income, and I can't afford to spend $7000.00 more to get it right.

I sent you this to you a couple of weeks ago and I know you contacted Don, but I haven't heard from you. I would appreciate any help you can give me on getting this matter taken care of...Please contact me and let me know what I need to do.

Thanks,
Janice Bradley
