Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"Rosemarie organized a craft & Vendor show in Eau Claire on 9/22/13. She charged each vendor $75 per 10X10 booth. My booth was not even 10X10, it was much smaller.

She promised it was highly advertised and less than 25 people were in attendance over 5 hours.

The hotel staff was unaware of the event taking place.

She hid a $500 gift card for the vendors to find, but it was mysteriously hidden among her nieces stuff under a display basket on her table and the only way anyone else could have found it was to rip apart her "display"."

  • Rosemarie,
I did not "SCREAM" at you in the middle of the event. I never raised my voice once and several vendors can attest to that. I merely asked you two questions; 1. Can you prove that you hid a $500 gift card for all to find? and 2. Did you really do all you can as far as advertising seeing the turnout of only 25 NOT 83! I do have photos and proof my booth was not 10 X 10. You violated the contract first which means I am not liable to honor it. When we arrived you did not even have a table available for us and we had to find our own. I owe you nothing for slander, slander is stating untruthful facts, everything I states was true!

I did ask before packing up and I was not the first booth to do so. I have you recorded saying that I could pack up due to the shows low attendance. You did say it was my loss as there was still 60 minutes left in the show - I packed up at 1:57 pm. Half of the booths were already packing up and since I had the farthest drive, I decided to pack up as well. If the event was so great, why is she offering FREE spaces at upcoming craft shows to anyone who wants to due to poor turn out at the Eau Claire Fair as well as the Osseo fair? Many past & present vendors have contacted me advising me they had the same experience and were sorry I was not warned before hand. Her name is heavily being spread around the Direct Sales world warning vendors to steer clear.

As you can see she completely avoids stating any facts in regards to the gift card that she conveniently hid for a family member to find!

Rosemarie, karma will eventually get you. If you can honestly live with yourself and the fact that you think you did all you could as a supposed 25 year event planner then so be it.

I have turned you in to the Better Business Bureau, I have contacted the media to do a story on you so no other vendors have to lose their hard earned money to you, and I have told every person I know in direct sales about my terrible experience in hopes they do not get "scammed" by you!

  • Sep 27, 2013, Rosemarie Novak (responding party) added:
  • The only Karma that will come into play here will be that which comes back on you for all of your Lies and Slander. - I have Tears from the newspapers in which I advertised and I have the Contract from the Hotel where the Event was held. You did NOT ask permission, from me, to leave the Event early and you are very fortunate that I am a CHRISTIAN and do not Believe in suing people. However, should your Slanderous Lies continue, I may be forced to change my Policy. Thank you for these Lies and I pray you find the Lord and His grace. - You forget how many people listened to you rant and rave in the middle of the room. Everyone heard everything you said. I rest perfectly well at night. One who knows where they stand with the Lord always rests very Pecefully.

  • Oct 04, 2013, Rosemarie Novak (responding party) added:
  • This entire claim is ludicrous. - We keep excellent records and we have ALL of the newspaper copies of our ADS to prove we ran ads for the Show. - Since this was obviously your first Show, you will find that sometimes Shows are poorly attended no matte how much advertising is done. Please do not bother us with this again. You will receive No Refund. You broke the Contract by breaking down early and there are over 30 witnesses to that fat. Have a wonderful future in Sales.

Respondent's Counteroffer Hide
The claimant's settlement terms were rejected with the following explanation:
  • I disagree with the explanation / grounds provided

"She was provided with a 10 by 10 foot booth. She signed a Contract which read NO EARLY BREAKDOWNS (prior to 3 pm) and she broke down her booth at 1:15pm. Therefore, she is in Breach of Contract with us and weowe her nothing. - If anything, she OWES US for SLANDER and for Disrupting the Craft Show by standing in the middle of the Event Center and SCREAMING at not only me but at our Vendor Assistants as well. - The Hotel was well aware that we were to be there since they were PAID for the use of the room AND they put on a considerable Lunch Counter loaded with foods and beverages to accommodate our Vendors and Guests. We DID highly advertise this Show: Eau Claire Leader Telegram, Craig's List, Face Book, Ad-Delite and other media sources. And although a very small group of people came through, there WAS 83 in attendance. We did not MAKE this woman come to this Show, she called US and asked if she come reserve a Space and Attend this Show."

  • Rosemarie is a known scammer and pathological liar. I worked for her briefly years back and have first accounts of her actions dealing with customers. Not only did I get scammed by her outrageous lies but plenty of other paying customers did also. She keeps claiming she is a "Christian" yet I've never met anyone who lied and scammed as much as she does.
