Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"    My brother Louis Buantello recently purchased a 2007 Volvo from the Richmond location and had been dealing with Lynette. Thecar was suppose to be delivered on a monday. My understanding due to weather(rain), delivery was delayed. Too his surprise the vehicle had shopwedf up at 12:15 am on wednesday. Pretty unprofessional to make a delivery with no paperwork at that time in the morning.
He is a truck driver and had to be to work that morning and would be gone for 5-6 days which gave him no time to test drive and inspect the car. On his way to work, the check engine light came on and he contacted a respreative of ZAZAMOTO of his prediciament. He was instructed to take vehicle to a mechanic at which take he notified them he wouldn't be back for 5-6 days.
Upon his returned trip home after returning from being on the road for almost a week, a transmission failure indicator light came on. Since it was late at night, vehicle was taken to Blackburn's Automotive in Pulaski and diagnoised by the owner Jason. It was determined that the TCM was bad and is part of ther transmission and is covered under your warranty not to mention the extended warranty purchased.
ZAZAMOTO was notified and a representative was sent out to verify claim. Jason was instructed to drop the transmission pan and metal shavings were visible in fluid. Transmission needed replacement and claim as denied. My brother has mmade numerous attempts to contact ZAZAMOTO but no one wil;l take his call or return his messages left on voicemail. Seems to be habit stated by other unhappy customers.
I understand the state of VIrginia requires a Motor Vehicle Safety Inspection to obtain a sticker. In their manual, ity clearly states that unless any shock/strut is not leaking fluid, it passes inspection. They do not road test any vehicles. The rear shocks had to be replaced due to internal failure.
I recently reached out to Rob Afshari ( Sales Manager-Stafford location) and inquired if ZAZAMOTO has their own technicians the does an inspection on their vehicles they sell. He assured me they do 125 point inspection on all their vehicles. I would assume with that many things to check there has to be some checklist form for technicians to go off of and document any defects to be fixed prior to selling vehicle. His response in email is that they do not have a form in place to verify what has been inspected. They did however send my brother Louis a video of someone test driving the car and if up turn up the volume, you can clearily the rear shock on drivers side making a banging sound due to failure.
Also the battery had to be replaced due to a dead cell. As of right now my out of pocket expenses are $ 3,914.88 plus tax for labor and parts needed to make his vehicle in a safe and opeational condition.
