Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"Laminate flooring made by this company is defective all over. This company paid an inspector who said I over mopped the floor to get out of the warranty. When I asked the inspector what he thought, he got angry, yelled at me "do you want to pay me? if you want to pay me I'll tell you? do you want me to finish? loud and hateful.Jeff from Lowes witnessed this. I'm too weak to mop as I should, I have a mop that puts out a mist of water, made for these type floors. I live alone and no shoes are worn inside by anyone. Lowe's said the floor is defective, I have told them they have to replace it, they have to back the warranty. I've been on medication for years for anixity and just thinking about this floor and the report causes severe anxiety attacts that last about 12 hours. I had the boxes of flooring inside for the amount of time required before installtion. I know how to care for this floor because I had the same type floor for many years. The stress this has caused and is causing me is worst because of my medical condition, I've gone from a regular med to valium because of the stress. The Lowe's man, Jeff was here when the inspector was and he was a witness to how hateful the man was to me. The took pictures of the floor. Just the fact that I'm sick and weak, in bed all the time would tell anyone I don't have it in me to mop all this floor. Jeff came out earlier alone, he thought the whole floored looked really bad. The installation company came out, they said it was the floor. I take care of what I have because it can't be replaced. This new floor was a result of a water heater that burst and flooded my house, the insurance money is what bought this floor and it cracks when I walk on it. It's just a matter of time before it starts popping up. I have contacted a lawyer but prefer the company stand by it's warranty. This floors reviews on Lowe's web site alone is proof the floor is junk. I told the inspector that I'd have to mop after he walked in my home w/shoes on, but I didn't because I didnt have the engery. If I have to, I'll sue Lowes and they can sue Kronotex in return. The floor will be replaced. My old floor looked beautiful but a busted water heater is why it had to be replace."

Additional Communication Between Claimant and Kronotex-Perry Drone Hide
  • Feb 06, 2012, kronotex-Perry Drone (responding party) added:
  • This claim has no merit to it. We were contacted by Lowe's and we sent, at our expense, a 3rd party indepenedent inspector to her home to inspect the floor. They floor the customer had over mopped or cleaned her floor and this has result in the floor having swollen seams from moisture penetration. This is a warranty type claim, this is a maintenance issue caused by the customer. She called me on 2/1 and when I did not give her the answer she wanted she rudely hung up the phone in my ear and she would contact a lawyer. This claim has no merit, it is ridiculous and deserves no time. BTW, my name Terry Drone, not Perry. I talked to the Lowe's store twice and they agreed both time that is is a consumer caused issue, not a product issue. The amount the customer is wanting or claiming is also ridiculous, she is simply trying to cover the mistakes she made at someone else's expense. She needs to be careful about accusations she is making, accusing us of filing false reports would be one of those. She feels she is entitled to something and she is not in this case.

  • You have again lied, Jeff with Lowes was stunned when I told him that you said he agreed with you twice that I runied my own floor. I have told Lowe's corp about this and they will be contacting me, I'm going to make the BBB aware of your resistance to follow though on your warranty. There is other problems with the floor that I haven't mentioned. I'll keep that in my back pocket. I see your flooring has many bad reviews on line. I have plenty of witnessess and proof that it's the floor, not me that is the issue. Because I never did anything but mop 3 spots on the floor because of foot cream. I never mopped the floor even when I said I was, simply because being ill I don't have the strengh to do it. You can lie all you want, this is only the beginning. I have way too many witnesses and proof that will leave your lie about me watering the floor, in the dust
