Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"While sofa was under warranty I contacted company to say the color of the leather has highly visible imperfections and the product they gave me to clean my sofa has stained it. I have requested their attention to this matter a number of times and they have not responded."

  • After visiting your home and making some repairs, the Service Technician from U.S. Quality Furniture Service - a national 3rd party, independent furniture service company - indicated the cause of damage was customer abuse. I believe you have seen his report - if not we can provide it to you.

    The manufacturer of the furniture will provide no assistance as the leather was past it's one year warranty at the time the original claim was made.
    Furniture was delivered in December 2010 - original claim made May 2012.

    However, Choice Leather will at its expense, send a local leather technician to re-evaluate the problem. We will have CARE (over 20 years experience working with leather furniture) contact you and schedule an appointment. We will ask him to inspect and recommend a solution to the problem.

    Please understand it is our desire to resolve this issue in a manner that is mutually acceptable.

  • I appreciate your willingness to follow up. I regret that it has taken action as this to capture your attention. Please share the original pictures with your technician before he comes. You should have 2 sets of pics with 2 different problems.

  • When I made the original claim Pat said it was within the warranty period. Now you are saying the warranty period has expired. Please explain. One of my complaints is about the dye lot. Certainly that can't be my fault.

  • Below has been cut and pasted from our service log from 2012.

    Add yBUTTON CAME LOOSE ON SOFA, CUSTOMER HAS BUTTON & THREAD IS STILL THERE. FAXED ALBERT WO 5/18/12. CALL CUST AT HOME NUMBER 414-6004 TO SCH SERVICE CUSTOMER ADVISED OF ORIG. WARRANTY 1 YR. PAT S. TOLD MARIAN THAT HE THOUGHT WE COULD DO AT N/C SET UP WITH US QUALITY FOR 06/09 APPT. HAD TO BE RESCHEDULED PER US QUALITY REPORT...RESCHEDULED 06/23 US QUALITY JUST DID AN INSPECTION REPORT AND I OK'D THE BUTTON BEING INSTALLED AS FOR FADING OR DISCOLORATION DUE TO ?? THE CUSTOMER HAS A LEATHER PROTECTION AGREEMENT AND WILL BE SO ADVISED TO CONTACT THEM IN REGARDS TO ANY OTHER CASING PROBLEM...BUT NO ONE WARRANTIES FADING..I HAVE EMAILED US QUALITY 06/26 RECEIVED PICTURES AND HAD TO RESEND THEM TO PALATIAL AND AM WAITING FOR AN ANSWER..0710 PALATIAL CLAIMED NO WARRANTY ON THE LEA. 07/20 SHE IS USING A BLOW DRYER TO SEE IF SOME OF THE CLEANER DISAPATES...CUSTOMER FILED A COMPLAINT AND WE HAVE FAXED CARE TO SCHEDULE AND SEE IF HE CAN CORRECT THE CUSTOMER'S CLEANING ATTEMPT. AND ADDRESS ANY OTHER ISSUES....care is scheduled 08/07 max looked at the photo's today and reviewed the customer's history...08/06 CARE REDAYED THE 2 SEAT CUSHIONS AND SIDE OSF SOFA WHERE COLOR WAS FADING DUE TO WEAR...GREGG ASKED THE CUSTOMER IF HER DOGS HAD WET ON THE SOFA AND OF COURSE SHE SAID "NO" HE REPORTED THAT THE CUSTOMER SQUIRTED CONDITIONER STRAIGHT ON THE CUSHIONS INSTEAD OF RUBBING IT IN WITH A SOFT CLOTH SO THAT LEFT UGLY SPOTS ON THE SOFA. HE ALSO COMMENTED THAT WE SHOULD BE DOING NOTHING ELSE FOR THIS CUSTOMER SHE SIMPLY ABUSED THE SOFA INV. 125.00 COMPLETE 08/10/12our information here

    Choice Leather paid for all this work as it was not covered under warranty.
