Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I pawned my car title for $1500 last year,I lost my job, fell behind on payments.Valdosta Title Pawn recovered my car on April 24 around 6pm from my home. The next day I called & called to get the pay off as my mother said she would pay it-she had no knowledge of the fact that I had pawned the title (2011 Mazda 3)& was extrememly upset with me,but, nevertheless agreed to pay to get it back. Finally,on April 26 I reached the manager Jerry & he said the owner sold the car at auction. He would not tell me the owner's name when I asked. I do not know for a fact that it was sold at auction or if they kept it for themselves. This was less than 48 hrs after they picked it up that I was told it was auctioned. I have no argument with the fact they took the car as I was in default. I do have a big problem with the fact they did not give me not one chance to pay them back what I owed on the loan & whatever other charges they wanted to add. On May 1, 2013 I consulted an attorney in Waycross where I live & he faxed a letter asking them for information on the vehicle & also a copy of the loan agreement ...they cleaned out my car & bagged up everything which I did retrieve from them..However,my copy of the loan agreement which I kept in my car was not there when I went through my things. They have not responded to my attorney, they did not give me anything in writing...ever. The book value of the car is $11,500 so I'm sure they made off very well. They also took my tag."

  • May 29, 2013, Claiming party added:
  • I sent a letter by certified mail to Valdosta Title Pawn(the same letter the attorney had faxed to them)& this Jerry person called my attorney & said he had mailed a copy of the agreement to my home...he has not! Plus he said some other things that were not true. The car was not sold at auction like he said but rather is being leased out thru Valdosta Title Pawn to a female in Blackshear,Ga.So, not only did Jerry lie to me & my mother that the car was auctioned off less than 48 hrs after it was taken but also lied to attorney Jeffrey Parker who is an officer of the court.
