Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I had my truck serviced and upon returning home noticed that the drivers side interior door handle was broke. On my next oil change on 11/26/2013 the service tech advised me that my inside door handle was loose and that I needed an alignment. I advised the tech at that time that the door handle was broken while my truck was being serviced at a prior date. The tech made no effort to resolve this problem. On 12/27/2013 I returned to Helfman Ford to get the alignment and attempt to resolve the broken door handle. I was advised by the Service Advisor the Cost of the alignment and that he would check on my extended warranty to see if the door handle would be covered. I waited about 2 hours and the alignment was completed $179.95. When I got my truck I inspected it and found the passengers inside door handle was broke. I called for the advisor to my truck and showed him the broken handle and he said that he would add it to the other one and that he had not seen this before."

  • They did not speak to me about the problem twice ; the first time they said that door handle was loose and I said that the problem happened on a previous visit the tech didn't respond. On my last visit I restated to the tech that my door handle was loose and he referred me to a Service Specialist. The purpose of my visit was for an alignment and to check on the door handle. The Specialist said that he would check on my warranty to cover the cost of the door handle. Later he came to me stating that there was a leak on my truck and that they had a service advisory and that it would required that my transmission be dropped to repair the problem . As far as I know I have seen no leak and nothing else was done. When my truck was finished the Specialist said that receipt would be e-mailed to me all I had to do was pay the cashier and get my truck. I paid the $179.95 then went to get my truck. I inspected it and found that the passenger inside door handle was cracked. I went to the cashier and asked the she page the Specialist to my truck that there was something wrong she did so. I returned to my truck and walked past the Service Managers office and it was empty with no light on. When the Specialist got to my truck I showed the handle which was not damaged before I got to Helfman Ford on 12/27/13. His response was add it to the other damaged door handle and walked away. He said nothing about my warranty and I didn't get the receipt for the work done on my truck 12/27/13. My truck was damage at Helfman Ford on two of the last three visits to Helfman Ford Service Department.
