Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"My adult son owes me over $17,000 and refuses to pay me.  He is currently employed and last month made over $14000 take home. He has owed me for over 10 years now and originally owed me $21K.  I am currently authorized on his checking account and I had set up auto payment to me of $100 monthly.  He now transfers his employers direct deposit employment checks from our joint account to another bank account as soon as it clears.  Therefore allowing less than $100 balance in his account.  I have asked him nicely, I have written, emailed, texted and called him asking him to start paying me again.  My last communication with him was that I was going to take him to Court and hire an anttorney.  His comment was "what is your problem?"  He continues to ignor me and basically has no contact with me.  I am retired and on social security and although I am financially ok feel the money he borrowed should be paid back.  The money was for a motor cycle as well as moving costs, rent, etc. He also owes me a balance on an auto and auto insurance I paid for several years.  He is now financially secure and is spending his money like crazy.  I offered him an alternative to settle on $6000 after he recieved a $25,000 bonus check.  He refused my offer. To this day he ignores his obligation to me and continues to refuse to pay me. "

  • Hi Eric, Do you have any signed contracts that prove beyond doubt the loan amounts and terms for repayment? This would go a long way in helping you avoid losing your money and case. Is there a chance your son felt your 'loans' were gifts?
