Claimant says:
"We, Edward L and Ernestine Scott, recently moved out of our rental apartment The Avenues at Cypress, 21500 Cypresswood Drive, Apartment 19105, Cypress, TX 77429 on 4/15/2015. We are upset because the Apartment Management are charging us for items that should be normal ware and tear we resided there for 12.5 months and we took excellent care of the apartment. The Avenues are charging us for damages to the apartment which should be considered normal wear and tear grease spots on some of the walls which they say caused them to paint an entire 3 bedroom 2 bath 1 car garage in the amount of $110. Damages to carpet in master bedroom which consist of normal dirt no mud, no ink/beverage or un-removable stains in the amount of $156.50 and 25.00 for a $5.98 toilet seat which became discolored due to the quality of the seat not from abuse. We are not disputing the charges for the Water, Trash, Utility reimbursement and pest control which totals $25.85. What we want is for them to remove the new charges (damages) because they are not justified. We did not abuse the apartment and we spent 5 days cleaning it prior to moving. The additional items they are charging us for is what any responsible management company would do for a new tenant. We did not have pets and we did not abuse the apartment so we are baffled at the $317.00 charges they are billing us for. The only charges we should have to pay is the Water, Trash, Utility reimbursement and pest control."
