Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"American Express has put false and misleading information on my credit report. They lied and harassed and continue to get away with it. They promised to ruin my credit report legally and they have done so. When a huge company smashes a consumer on purpose this is unfair. They have put excessive inquires on my credit report which is legal, however I can not get another credit card now. They lied about how much I owe and put a neg. on my credit report which is legal, but now I can not get another credit card. They say I owe them all the excessive fees they have charged me, really, that is not fair but legally they have done this and continue to do so. The credit reporting agencies just report and they know this and that's why they promised to ruin me just because they could. They stand their ground and say they are just reporting THE TRUTH? The truth is they lied to me to get me to pay my credit card bill. They said if I paid it I would win the credit card dispute, the thing that started all of this. I paid, they laughed and said, you lost sucker and if you do not continue to pay we will ruin you, bring you to your knees and your family too, we promise to do this! I am now legally going to collect on their abuse and harassment tactics. This is the TRUTH. If the credit cards company continue to report this pre-meditated war plans toward the consumer there will be a huge backlash from the American public. People just don't decide one day not to pay their bills. They don't pay because they have been deceived and lied to and they begin to mistrust and American Express does NOT BEND. They will only understand a heavy hand that forces them to own up. I have asked for $10,000 in damages, and they did not take me seriously, nor did they answer me. Now I am demanding that they take me seriously and I am asking $100,000. My demands will only go up from here as the American public will not stand for abuse and harassment from American Express as they are doing all of this legally and getting away with it! I am prior military, a female and a senior."

  • My son and I applied for the American Express Simply Cash for Business Card.  We trusted them and we needed the card to help my son get the things he needs for his startup business.  They pulled not only this card, but my COSTCO card with them without any kind of warning.  They too threaten to ruin my credit and claim we owe them 22 thousand dollars.  We do owe them a good sized amount.  They actually tricked us into using their "check spending availability" feature which allows us to spend over the limit.  Our company needed the extra money and we were hesitant at first, but we made the mistake to take advantage of this feature.  We even consulted with American Express to see what the limits were to this.  They told my son that the website would tell us when it is enough.  Now, even after they cancelled our account, we made payments on time.  First the payments ranged from $300 to $500 per month, which was reasonable and we continued to pay them.  February of 2015 we got a payment of over $900 which we could not make, as we have other obligations.  Now, they want us to pay over $2000 per month.  The minimums get higher every month and it is ruining our business financially and keeping us from meeting our other obligations.  They told my son that they would ruin my credit report by placing me on an outside collection agency.  I truly believe American Express does not care for its customers and should be shut down and all their operations should be ended.
