Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I placed a service call to ADT and had them come to my home to fix my alarm system. 1) The kitchen window dedector was installed inproperly and caused a problem to close the window. 2) To fix my balcony door which had no signal to my system. I asked to be notified at least 30 minutes before the technician arrived since I could explain the window problem better. On 8/5 the technician showed up without notifying me. My wife and my children were at home. My kitchen windows are the one that you turned the knob from inside clockwise and counter clockwise to open and close the window. The technician played around the window for a few minutes and later told my wife the window hinge was broken and could not be fixed. My wife told him that it wasn't broken before. Then he was about toleave with with a broken window and without fixing either problem. My wife called me and I talked with him directly and he said he would wait for me until I got home. When I arrived home, he was gone. I called his service manager Jeff at 703-912-3400 and left a nervous and unhappy message since that evening a storm would be coming and I was nervous about the unclosable window. After I opened all the window screens and blinds, I managed to get the window closed with the broken hinge. At least I didn't have to worry the approaching storm with water getting in through the window. Next day, I got a call from Jeff, the manager and he told me that the techician said he did not break our window. I told him that he was lying and my wife and children witnessed that. Then he told me he would get back to me. Since that call, I had made at least twelve calls to Jeff with his voice mail every time and to the corporate customer relation department at 866-561-0952 x4747 with Susan Haymes. She told me that she would talk with the service manager there and got back to me. It has been over 1 month and 1 week, and no one called me back with a solution. Everytime, I called either number was recording and they never returned my call. I have called to the general number 800-238-2727 and they referred me back to Susan and apologized. I don't understand what kind of service ADT the largest alarm company is providing, giving customer the run around and avoid responsibility. They broke my window and need to fix it and other problems I originally placed immediately and I hope wtop can help me resolve that. I guess any consumer will be as upset as I am if you are in my position.
