Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"All Positive posts are filtered while negative ones are displayed. Yelp does not respond to numerous attempts to contact them so I can gain an understanding as to why positive comments are filtered. Disgruntled employees have posted fake reviews and they appear. Yelp needs to display the good comments."

  • I have written reviews on Yelp and they are all filtered. I wouldn't have known if I hadn't gone back to change a review when a problem I wrote about (to help the restaurant) was corrected. Someone told me that you have to write a lot of reviews before they will think you're legitimate. Why would I waste my time getting to some level when I don't even know what the level is? I really don't care that much. I am concerned however because a lot of people don't know that filtered reviews are there, so they don't go through all the roadblocks to look at them. This doesn't matter so much if you eat at a restaurant where all the bad reviews have been filtered out, even if you get a little sick, but if you go to a doctor whose bad reviews have been filtered then it could cost you your life.

  • @Renda Tucker: since when does the BBB Accreditation mean anything? everybody knows they give the accreditation in exchange for money. that stuff isn't transparent, fair or useful in any way, other than fooling unsuspecting customers. don't fall for it.

  • This seems to be a very common complaint about Yelp. There are several companies that are alleging the same issues with the website (for example, there has been a website created called saveusfromyelp.com). One thing you can do, if Yelp itself isn’t cooperating, which is seems it tends not to be cooperative, is you can file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. This has been an option recommended on other sites, and if enough people file complaints, perhaps an investigation can be opened on this issue.
