  • According the Yelp's Support Center, you can reply to reviews publicly or privately. It also gives suggestions on how to respond to these reviews. You need to be careful when responding to the reviews since good intentions can come across negatively. Yelp says to keep these things in mind when responding to the reviews: (1) Your reviewers are your paying customers, (2) Your reviewers are human beings with (sometimes unpredictable) feelings and sensitivities, (3) Your reviewers are vocal and opinionated (otherwise they would not be writing reviews!). By responding to the review, you can help the situation and maybe even change their mind. If you go to their website it gives all their suggestions on how to respond to reviews: https://biz.yelp.com/support/responding_to_reviews

  • Yelp has become a very popular complaint, due to negative reviews and the inability to remove them. The best way to deal with this issue, it seems, is to actually post a rebuttal to the negative reviews. Be polite and concise, and explain why you feel the review may be mistaken. While this will not help your overall rating, it can go a long way to show that you care about your business and the reviews associated with it. Yelp itself will not take down negative reviews, and are actually immune from lawsuits for negative reviews.
