Claimant says:
"I had Mr Lester give me a quote to rebuild a mototr for my business , A flatbed truck that is an intrical part of my business . It has been 4 months and I have been to get the vehicle 4 times , each time the vehicle wasn't running right , i wouldn't get 5-10 miles from his shop and the vehicle would over heat, I would call him and he would have me and my crew of men sitting waiting for him to come and resolve the problem , and eveytime he tooh the vehicle /or we would get it back to him there would be another reason the vehicle wasn't running correctly, and it was always the same issue it was over heatinh. The first time it overheated , he came to us and I noticed the shroud on the radiator wasn't secured to the radiator and his answer was " He ran out of bolts "! and it also used the old Thermostat that was in the motor when it blew up originally from overheating. Then he took it for anothet 2 weeks and the same result, there is numerous events with this , all documeted and I have given him close to $ 8,000.00 when the we contracted for 4,250.00 I've been parts for the vehicle he said he couldn't find, he won't give me the Manufacturior warrenties of a Labor warrenty that he had agred to originally. Now the vehicle is in my yard , he brought it back and didn't secure the fuel pump to the motor which made the fuel line break to where it leaks gas all over the motor and won't run correctly. I've had it brought to another establishment to have them tell me what the problem is and they told me it needed a new head and new head gaskets which Mr Lester claims to have installed. Now it over heated yet a 3rd time and he's blaming me for the problem when he clearly stated there would be no problem driving it , which we didn't do but to get it off the side of the road to my yard becuase each time it would get hot at a stop light or inter section. He even came out the 2nd time , after having my crew and I wait 2 1/2 hours for him ,and he put a thermameter in the radiator and told us it was fine when it was clearly over heating. also there was a time when I went to his shop to tell him it had over heated YET AGAIN and he approached me with a pipe yelling at me " He was tirwed of working on my equipment " I told him I paid him for a new motor at one said price and the price had doubled and I have spent hundreds of dollars in rental and man hour due to the vehicle being in operative. He has single handily almost put me out of business due to this matter and I've given him Numerous time and cash to resolve this and he just doesn't reply or obviously care. All I want is what I paid for or my money re imbursed and I will get it taken care of by some other Responsible Mechanic."

  • I also have been scammed by Mr. Briggs, over $1,800 in repairs that were not done, car is till not running after almost a year. He stole the motor from car and put another. Tried to beat me up when asked when work would be completed. His business license has been cancelled for a long time.
