"Refuses to return $500 deposit on a car I WAS LOOKING OVER THE INTERNET AT THRIFTY CARS SALES IN CLEARWATER FLORIDA AND I SAW A CAR I WAS INTERESTED IN. A SELLMAN CALL ME AROUND 10 AM HE TOLD ME TO COME DOWN AND TAKE A LOOK AT THE CAR. 2 PM I ARRIVED. NO CAR. THIS IS WHAT I JUST LEARN WAS A BAIT AND SWITCH. HE SHOWED ME OTHER CARS I ASK CAN HE CALL HIS OTHER CAR LOTS TO SEE IF THEY HAD THE CAR I TRUELY WANTED HE NEVER DID HE KEPT SHOWING ME CARS ON HIS LOT. FINALLY I SAW ONE I LIKE BUT NOT AS WELL AS THE ONE I CAME IN TO SEE. SO HE STARTED THE PAPER WORK. PEOPLE WAS COMING AND GOING AND I WAS STILL THERE WAITING. THE PLACE WAS STARTING TO CLOSED. FINALLY HE CAME AND TOLD ME I WAS APPROVED AND THEY ARE GETTING EVERTHING READY FOR ME. I TOLD MY BROTHER HE COULD LEAVE NOW THAT EVERYTHING WAS A GO AHEAD. HE WAS VERY LATE FOR HIS DATE, SO HE LEFT. I SIGN THE PAPERS WAS HANDED THE KEYS. THE SALEMAN WALK ME TO THE CAR. GET IN THE CAR AND THE CAR WOULD NOT START. THE SELLMAN GOT IN THE CAR AND IT WOULDN'T START FOR HIM EITHER I BEGIN TO PANIC BECAUSE I HAD SENT MY BROTHER AWAY, I LIVE ABOUT AN 1 HOUR FROM THIS DEALORSHIP. I ASK THE SELLMAN HOW WAS I TO GET HOME. I COULDN'T REACH MY BROTHER ON HIS CELL PHONE. I THAN ASK THE SELLMAN CAN HE TAKE ME HOME. HE WENT BACK INTO THE BLDING AND CAME BACK WITH A SET OF KEYS AND TOLD ME TO USE THE LOANER. 5 MINS DOWN THE HWY THE CAR STOP. NO GAS. I AM A 60 YRS OLD MOTHER, GRANDMOTHER AND A LADY WHO HAD TO WALK DOWN THIS LONG DARK CONSTRUCTION HWY NO LIGHTS TO FIND A GAS STATION AND HELP. I REACH HOME ABOUT 2 AM. IN THE MORNING I TOLD Y BROTHER WHAT HAPPEN HE WAS VERY UPSET. HE SAID IF THE CAR COULD NOT START THAT MEAN I SHOULD NOT ACCEPT THIS CAR. I CALL THE FINANCE PEOPLE AND EXPLAIN WHAT HAPPEN, AND THEY SAID THE CAR WAS CONSIDER IN THE CONTRACT AS NOT BEING DELIVERED AND IT WAS NOT TAKEN OFF OF THEIR LOT I DID NOT HAVE TO ACCEPT THE CAR. SO I TOLD THEM TO CANCEL THE CONTRACT AND THEY DID IMMEDIATELY. I THEN CALL THE SELLMAN AND TOLD HIM WHAT HAD HAPPEN TO ME AFTER I LEFT HIM AND I DECIDED NOT TO ACCEPT THIS CAR AND I HAD CALLED AND CANCEL THE CONTRACT WITH THE FINANCING COMPANY. I TOLD HIM WHAT THE FINANCE COMPANY HAD TOLD ME. I TOLD HIM THAT I WAS RETURNING THEIR LOANER CAN AND I WOULD LIKE TO PICK UP MY DEPOSIT. WHEN I ARRIVED THE SELLMAN WAS NO WHERE TO BE FOUND. I WAITED AN HOUR THEN I TOLD THE SELL MGR TO TELL HIM TO MAIL ME MY DEPOSIT. HE DID NOT. I CALLED AND CALLED NO RETURN CALLS FROM SELLMAN, MGR, OR OWNER. I THOUGHT MAYBE I WASN'T SUPPOSE TO GET MY MONEY BACK. NOW I HAVE FOUND OUT I WAS. THEY WAS NOT TO KEEP MY DEPOSIT THEY WERE TO RETURN IT. I WANT MY DEPOSIT $500"
