Claimant says:
"I moved out of an apartment on February 28, 2014. I received a partial payment of my security deposit. I was charged for items that I should not have to pay for. Its only a matter of $169.77, but this matters to me. I was charged for extra cleaning charges for the carpet, there was no 'extra' needed. I was in the apartment for four years, shouldn't they have to clean the carpet anyway? I was also charged for a broken blind in the bedroom. Three of the slats were held up by tape when I moved in and shortly they fell off. I told the manager at the complex this, but she charged me anyway. The other charge was for three hours of cleaning, which was not needed on my part. The manager sited six small issues that she was dissatisfied with when I moved out - They did NOT warrant three hours of cleaning. I believe Shelard Management Group tries to make the out-going tenant pay for everything, even wear and tear. Their move-out requirements are extremely excessive and I am not really sure, but possibly illegal. I am hoping they can be reviewed by a third party. Can you please help with this?"

  • In responce to your claim: All documents were sent to you including:
    *Your move-in/out form-with notations
    *Disposition of security Deposit listing charges upon vacating your apartment
    *Invoices from our vendors that we paid and billed back directly to you
    The Wedgewood Park Management office has corresponded with you on two occasions making certain you received all of the appropriate documentation regarding charges for cleaning and carpet cleaning. All charges are valid.

  • Shelard allowed an undocumented person to live at my property. Thus person retained a key and vandalized my vehicle. When I brought this to shelard attention and requested the video surveillance footage, notified that rent would be a week late i got a final eviction notice.
