Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"My 2005 Dodge Status was worked on 8/25/14 at Route 18 Chrysler Jeep-Dodge. They had permission to do an oil change and a tire rotation. I had tried to explain to them they the left front tire could not be tightened to specifications. I was told by an employee that they had to follow guide lines. So therefore my car was not fixed properly. I was leaving on vacation but was unable to drive my car due to the noise it was making. I have received numerous phone calls about trading my car in, but never did anyone ask I was satisfied with the service I had received. I am not. However Route 18 has found several more repairs that need to be done to my car, but the first service is still not complete.
I feel this bad service needs to be brought to the attention of the Better Business Bureau so this behavior can be stopped and my problems with the car can be resolved.
I can be reached at: Daryl Reid 181 Kenneth Court, Spotswood, NJ08884 or my phone at 732-485-3750"

Respondent's Counteroffer Hide
The claimant's settlement terms were rejected with the following explanation:
  • "Mr Reid had come in for an oil change & tire rotation. Mr Reid had told us his vehicle was in an accident & the repair center that repaired it told him not to tighten the wheel to spec's. We explained that we had to tighten it to spec's or the wheel may came off while driving. Mr Reid called us back & said that his vehicle was now pulling. we had him come back in & we inspected the vehicle. The one tire was fairly new & the other was worn, which could cause a pulling issue. Since this tire was in the rear before the rotation, it would not cause the pull. If Mr Reid was told by another service center to not tighten the wheel completely, then that center is dealing with someone's life! Also Mr Reid called & was very upset about the his vehicle & the way he was treated. At that time I asked him what would make him happy & he said he wanted an apology, which I put the srvice advisor on the phone & he apologized if he had offended Mr Reid. "
