Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I leased a living room set and tables from rent-a-center April 30,2013 Rental Agreement No.E1424862 the address is 3818 W Riverside Blvd Rockford ,IL 61101. My complaint is I was moving to a different resident I called rent-a-center to move the furniture because it's company policy that they move their items so that they aren't damage. I called the company on July 10 or 11 to inform them of my move they set an appointment for my items to be moved on the 14 a friend of mines meet them at my new place of resides to allow them in,when he called me he told me they had damage my sofa he also told me that the two guys called the manager from the store to look at the damage he informed my friend to tell me to call him. I talked to Brad about the situation for my sofa and my tables he send one of the mover guy back to fix the dinks on my tables for informed me that it was nothing they could do about my sofa. I called the corp. office in Plano TX. spoke to a young lady there explained my situation about the damage to my furniture in turn she told me that the Manager Byrant Anderson would get in touch with me and he never have so I need to know what do I do"

  • I have still not heard from Ms. Reed. I have sent emails to her private email and tried to communicate through this channel. The legal department would like to resolve this matter with her. She can email me at Or, she can call the store and they will try to work it otu with her.

  • After the initial contact regarding the damage, our coworkers went to the home and repaired the table and a minor scratch on the couch; we were able to verify that in fact those were the scratched caused by our coworkers. After a few days Ms. Reed called and said she had found different scratches which were not there when we had been out to repair previously. Ms. Reed demanded a new couch a request that we respectfully denied because we are certain that we have met our obligation as to the damage caused during the move. We have made several attempts to contact Ms. Reed by email and telephone and she has failed to return any of our communication. please consider this matter resolved.

  • That is a lie your co- worker came and repaired the scratches on the table that they did the gentleman also said he was going to talk to the manager at the store because they had damage the sofa on the move. In term I talked to Chad he informed me that Brad was on vacation and he would get back to me when he get back to work and no that didn't happen. When that didn't happen I called the corpate office that's when I talked to a young lady I told her the situation she told me that Mr Bryant Anderson was out and she let him know of the situation and he would get back to me and that never happen.If you all wants to be a respectable business please stop the lying and stand by you policies

  • Rent-A-Center believes that this issue is resolved. Our co-workers did come out to Ms. Reed’s home in order to address her concerns. Furthermore, Rent-A-Center does not feel that a new couch was warranted as demanded by Ms. Reed, the damage to the couch was minor and it was fixed during our initial visit. Rent-A-Center’s legal department and store have reached out to Ms. Reed numerous times as far back as August 28, 2014; we have attempted to reach Ms. Reed through PeopleClaim, Ms. Reeds’ personal email and her personal telephone and she has not responded to any of our messages or telephone calls. Rent-A-Center respectfully requests that this matter be closed.
