Claimant says:
"I (Roy Rindom) brought my Gold Chain into Renee's Jewelery store at 6501 Taft Street in Hollywood. I was given this gold chain by my father 35 years ago and have 35 years of photos as to how long it used to be. A link broke and there is a Beautiful Opal that hangs from my chain. So without taking a chance of losing my Opal I took my gold chain to Renee';s this past Saturday, (January 14, 2017) to be repaired and I have the receipt.
I had stopped by there the previous Saturday to get a price on fixing my chain. I was told it would be $ 12.00 for the one broken link or $ 150.00 to review the whole chain and strengthen each link. I waited until I got paid and this past week and on Saturday (1/14/17) I took the gold chain my Dad gave me in to be repaired. I actually went ahead and decided that I did not want to lose my Opal and I left the Chain with them in the afternoon to go ahead and strengthen the whole chain for 150.00. I dropped it off about 2:30 and I arrived the same day about 6:30 to pick up my chain. I have a partially amputated left hand and I need help putting my Opal on the chain, (I did not leave the Opal only the chain) with them during the day. I brought the Opal with me so when I paid him the money $ 159.00 total with tax the man threaded the Opal onto the chain and then I leaned forward and he clasped it around my neck. I left said, Thanks and picked up my son, I am a single dad and he was at a friend's house while I ran some errands during the day. That night the chain felt different, I have been wearing this chain for 35 plus years now I Know my chain. I looked at some old photos and the chain is at least 2 inches shorter than it was before I dropped it off. I NEED Help.
My Dad gave me that chain. I was there today and he said putting more gold on each end of the link made the chain thicker so it looks shorter.
are you kidding there is no way that this is even Logical of an explanation.
looking at these photos of so many years a Blind man could see the difference in length.
Please All I want is my money back so I can have the chain lengthen to what it was. They Stole at least 3 inches of my chain and I NEED YOUR HELP, Please
This chain resembles a choker more than the nice necklace that it was.
I purposely wore the same shirt to show the dramatic difference.
