Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"We took our nissan that wasnt running properly to the monroeville,PA nissan dealership to get fixed. They fixed a computer, we had to pay for a rental car. They charged us $3000 to fix a computer they said was causing the problem. We are still paying off the car and had to borrow another $2000 to fix it. We took it home it was still having the problem. We took it back, had to rent a car for a month because they never contacted us to tell us the car was ready. We would not have known had we not stopped at the dealership to see what was taking so long. We were charged another $800 to fix another computer. When we picked it up after another month, they told us they went over it with a fine tooth comb and its running like new. We drove out of the lot, it was still doing same thing. They told us bring it in they will look at it. We brought it back, within 5 minutes were given a list of 5 new things wrong with it, they wanted another $3800 to fix it. It included, but wasn't limited to, motor mounts, tie rods, and another computer that caused the engine warning light not to come on. I don't know how the car was gone over with a fine tooth comb and running like new when we picked it up and all that new stuff was broken before we drove a mile. I dont know how they diagnosed that in 5 minutes, but in an entire month they had it everything was perfect. This is a road driven car not 4 wheeling. I was told at the least they misdiagnosed the car, but most likely we were lied to since they diagnosed these new problems after having the car a month and got a clean bill of health.
I am a disabled veteran, i make $700 a month. My husband is a police detective and doesn't make a lot. We have had at least 20 cars during our 22 year marriage and never had an issue.
I had surgery June 10th and have to see a doctor and get medication monthly. I wasn't able to make doctor visits, late getting medications, couldn't get groceries, husband couldn't get to work ,we have to move out of our house of 20 years, we can't afford it. I have cried daily, we are paying the car payment, paying the loan for repairing it, paying a rental car, and still have a car running the same way and unsafe to drive.
I have e mailed the nissan corporation, was first told it's a used car they aren't responsible. I was then told its a private dealership they aren't responsible. I have all the e mails i sent and the few they sent me. We are so frustrated we just don't know what to do but warn people."
