To whom it may concern:
Last year we got a letter from Mortgage Entitlement Counseling.
The later stated that due to recession in the housing market,
the lenders are instructed by the Federal Government to grant
$26 Billion in funding to qualified home owner.
This letter convinced us and we accepted invitation to participate
in this program to reduce our interest and principal loan balance.
Then we received the instructions "Document Preparation Services
for Loan Restructuring" (see attachments Preparation*.pdf) and
sent first check for commitment/starting deposit $750 (attachment Check1.pdf)
and second check as remainder of the retainer fee $1,100 (attachment Check2.pdf).
After completing the process, we got the letter from Compliance Officer
Thomas Chapman with "congratulations" for principal balance reduction of $52,500.00
(see attachment Financial_Relief.pdf). However, our Mortgage Company “Quicken Loans”
refused to reduce principal balance stating that there is no such Government Program.
We tried to call to Thomas Chapman several times to resolve the problem, but nobody answered. We request to reimburse $1,850 from Mortgage Entitlement Counseling.
