Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I contacted the dealership first by phone inquiring about a for explorer track 4x4 they had advertised on auto trader on line. the man I spoke with seemed nice and he told me to come over and they would appraise my vehicle I wanted to trade in. I wanted to get out from under the payment due to my finances due to job change. I told them I need a 4x4 pickup that was around 8-9 thousand. when I arrived at the dealership they took my keys and did the appraisal. The first vehicle they showed me was a 2014 small car I told them no. Then another car the dealer who was helping me showed me a 2014 version of the car I finally the car I purchased and then the one I got which is a 2010. The whole time I am saying no its not what I need. The manager Brian brought me in some kind of paper work for the 2014 jeep I told him out right no then he went out and then came back in with the same work with the 2010 info then he started showing me things on the computer about milage and so on he also said I just can't say no and that I have to get out of this and so on he was standing over me the whole time. Truly felt pressured. when I finally signed the paper his attitude totally changed. by this time I had been there at least 4 hours I had not had the chance to eat before I went so had not eaten all day. was not feeling very well by then. so signed paperwork with Margaret Long business manager and headed for home so hit rush hour traffic on 205 north. That night I emailed the dealer who was helping me I didn't want the car. he returned my email stating it will all be fine no worries. So around 9Am I got in the car and went back over there. Brian told me the paper work had already gone to the bank and I was stuck in the car, point blank. There were a few issues I had with the vehicle they said they would fix and then the dealer said they would try and make it right by selling me a 2013 Avalanch or a newer Toyota pickup both way out of my budget. then he told me give him a week and he would find what I was looking for. but if he had it why didn't they show me it eather on the computer or another show room on the other lots? He told me they had a wide inventory.. He was going on about how I didn't tell him I needed a 4x4 pick up and that I ONLY SAID I NEEDED OUT of the ford. I am a very easy going person I do not like to dispute or fight over things and I trust people most of the time and thought they might have some kind of ethics but I was wrong this man should be stopped. I spoke with another woman in the lot getting her new used car fixed she also said she was pressured. That is about the time Nate the dealer who was helping me pulled up and said hope in I'm taking you to lunch. they did not want me talking to this woman. Please I totally feel violated here and I have a very strong feeling I am not alone here.. I have spent my last 3 days that I had off work trying to work this out but to no avail. Please what can I do? Don't I have any rights here? Truly not a happy buying experience."

  • Hello I have worked in the public for a few years and you know I have never been treated a customer so poorly as was in your store. I felt pressured in to purchasing a vehicle I did not want or need. My needs were not met as well I was shushed by your sales manager? where I come from the customer is always right and most places that deal with the public do not treat your bread and butter in the manner I was treated.. It is just shameful on your managers behalf. He is a bully and I am ashamed for him and really sad for your company. Most everyone I met there was kind and courteous other then him. I sympathize for your customers also I know I am not the only one who has said they felt pressured. I am not one to make complaints but this man is a menus to woman alone and having a difficult time. He seemed to feed off that and made me feel ashamed of the situation I was in. ( Its just wrong what he did)Shame on you Brian!!
    Sincerely
    Lori Erickson
