Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"In May, I went to the property office to pick up a package where I was asked if I received my renewal letter. When I stated no, I was given the letter. I asked if my rent could be negotiated (it went from $900.00 to $950.00), and the leasing professional stated the business manager would try to work on lowering the monthly rent. I asked if I don't receive the letter by May 17th, 2015 would it be an issue and they said to not worry about it. In June, I went to pick up another package and I once again inquired about the status and was informed that the business manager is still working on it. On July 1st, I went to pick up another package and inquired once again. The leasing consultant stated that a letter was left on my door. I informed her that i did not have any notice on my door. The leasing consultant printed out a letter and the rent was down to $925.00. I asked when do I have to make a decision by and the leasing consultant stated I can give notice any time before July 17th. I sent a email on July 13th stating I will not be renewing my lease and the assistant business manager informed me I had to provide 60-days notice. When I informed her was I was told by the leasing professional, she did not respond. Also, the assistant business manager did not followup on work orders I submitted and when I sent her the original work order emails as well as the followup emails, she once again did not respond. I moved out on July 17 and provided written notice (via email). I should not be liable for any rent after July 17th (which I paid up to) as well as two months rent. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and JMG Realty and Ashbrook did not respond and my case was closed because they did not respond."

  • Feb 11, 2016, Claiming party added:
  • When my complaint was filed, JMG Realty did manage Ashbrook apartments. When did you stop managing the property? My complaint was filed July 2015 and nobody made any attempts to resolve my complaint. Did you stop managing Ashbrook apartments during July 2015? If not, then why was my complaint not resolved.

  • I contacted Kara Jones and she was suppose to call me yesterday and she did not. JMG Realty is still not willing to settle this matter.
