Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"Product not as described [Misrepresented by sellers for monetary gain]$500 dollar deposit via pay pal to Wacky Auto . I sent a deposit for a 2001 Cadillac El dorado Described to me as in very good condition and that everything works on the car. I asked all the questions about the Cadillac like condition inside and outside and was told the car was in very good condition I asked if the car had chrome wheels and was told the car had those wheels on it,I also asked if there was a c/d player and was told it had one . My next question was how many miles on this car and was told well below 100,000 in the 80 thousands,also asked how the car ran and was told very good. I purchased a one way ticket via US Airways from New Jersey to Ft Lauderdale Fl on Thursday January 26th 2012 and had a friend of mine pick me up at the Air Port and take me over to see the 2001 Cadillac El dorado. First thing I noticed is that the car did not have the chrome wheels,I asked and was told those were the wheels for that car-NOT TRUE-. I asked to take a test drive and when I tried to adjust the driver seat the seat would not operate properly I had to stretch my legs and was not comfortable at all. Then I went to put the drivers window down and that did not work at all and was told by one of the owners[Chuck] well the other window goes down. I started my test run and noticed the dash board was warped from the heat that is what I was told from Chuck the owner of the car lot and I should buy the part and replace it .At that point I told Chuck and his son Kevin I was not interested in this Cadillac and asked for my deposit of $500 dollars back and was told=NO= I would not be getting my money back no refunds. That was not what I was told and I signed no papers saying that . I told them I would call the Ft Lauderdale Police about this and was told to do what ever I wanted to do. When I call the Police and was waiting for them at 4: PM they started to close the shop up early. I made another call to the Police Department and told them they were closining up early and getting ready to flee at that point they dispatched a patrol car and just about made it before Kevin the one of the owners got away ,also.Chuck Had fled and left his son . I was told by the police officer that there was nothing he could do and this was a civil matter. I pleaded with the police officer to at least make a attempt and ask if they would return my $500 deposit and the police officer said that he was told that I was not getting my deposit back. I called the local Police department and got the report # of the response 12-981 that hey have on record for that time frame by the Ft Lauderdale Police. This outrages how I was treated by the auto dealer and costly to me on Air fares $175 one way down and another $160 one way Home Plus the $500 deposit I would like to be reimbursed for all my out of pocket expense from air fares and my $500 dollar deposit. Please help me

  • Now you know why they called them "wacky auto"! sorry to hear your story though. Can you post what "chuck's full name is? At least that will warn others not to do business with him wherever he's disappeared off to. NOt much you can do at this point probably, but having the names of all the parties out there might give them incentive to contact you and return your $$$$ deposit.
