Claimant says:
"My Suburu Outback wouldn't start, so I was under warranty and called the 24/7 easy care phone number. They called Jarretts Towing in Grottoes , Va. The owner of Jarrett's towing came on Friday, Oct. 17. He attempted to jump it, but couldn't. So he determined it was the starter. So he, without asking me, started hitting the starter with a bar by banging on it with a hammer. I asked him would this void the warranty. He said it wouldn't. He continued to hit the starter with a hammer/bar for about a minute. He still couldn't start it, so he left. I was able to get Layman's towing from Harrisonburg, Va. to take it with a rollback later that night to Bob Wade Suburu. Monday, Bob Wade called me, and said because the starter was damaged, it voided my warranty. I called Jared towing and the owner said he was not responsible for the damaged starter. He said " I should have stopped him". The cost of a new starter was about $470.
