Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I bought an Igloo ice maker for my friend's birthday. She wanted one for a long time. She was so thrilled to get it,but it broke down in three months. My friend returned the ice maker and they gave her a new one. The new one broke down in September 2015.She has tried to work with the company to give her help and they are not cooperating. She doesn't want another Igloo, because of its track record. It had a year's warranty. My friend is so discouraged. Can you help? Thank you! P.S. I am 83 years old and feel so bad because I bought it for her in full faith that it would make her birthday one to remember.I don't drive any more so I ordered the Igloo online. My friend picked it up at Walmart in Orlando.

  • The ice maker broke down for a second time. Does this problem occur normally with other customers? Surely, the claimant must have access to reviews about the product and she would have made an informed decision before purchasing a product that costs significantly.

The company replaced the first ice maker, but it refused to replace the second one. The question is, why did it refuse assistance the second time? Was your friend using the ice maker in a way it was not supposed to be used?

  • how long did the second ice maker last before breaking down?
also what is the company saying to your friend? as in are they also refusing to repair the damaged the product? are they giving her any reasons for not wanting to help?
