Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"We had new carpeting installed two bedrooms, four closets and a hallway in July. We are unhappy with the installation because we believe that one piece of bedroom carpet was actually not the same nap of the one it abutted to. It was installed the wrong way. Called Crew II who were the actual installers contracted by Home Depot. Two weeks later a worker came out and shined a large LED light on the seam and said it was seamed right and the carpet seam would relax. The carpet seam hasn't "relaxed" because that isn't the problem. The problem is that piece of carpeting is installed incorrectly. You can obviously see a difference in color at that seam line. The seam is right down the middle of our bedroom. We called Crew II twice since and have had no response. Then we started calling Home Depot. Their first response was to send back the same person with the LED light. I told them the seam wasn't actually the problem, but the fact that a whole piece of carpeting was installed incorrectly. She hung up on me. Then I got another worker who told me I should get a Home Inspector for his advice. We would be responsible for paying their fee if we are wrong and Home Depot would pay for it if we were right. We are O.K. with that, but they would not recommend anyone to do this. We are at a loss as to what our next step should be and would appreciate any advice you can give us."
