Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"This is to GM regarding my 2010 Chevrolet Equinox. From the beginning of my search I was always told that the Equinox and GMC Terrain are excellent vehicles. So I purchased a used one from a reputable dealer, it happen to be the general sales manager's mother's car which she bought new and traded for a new one. So I purchased this one after I bought it found out it was one of the first 2010 to come off the line. So it wasn't eligible for several things like the remote start from anywhere and small things like that. In fact people from GM would call me asking why I didn't take advantage of these things. I told them it wasn't eligible they would tell me that it was, well they didn't even know that this one wasn't, this has been a horrible experience one that I can't afford. It was very irritating but figure I would have to just live with it. The reason I bought this car is because I became disabled from a work accident and I am almost 61 and it's easy for me to get in and out of it. I also knew the few miles I would put on a car it would be silly to buy new. Well another thing I just found out the HARD WAY IS SINCE IT WAS AN EARLIER BUILT 2010 GM had some left over transmissions and these transmission were known to have problems. Yes I found out the hard way I put 3,000 miles on this car in a year and the transmission shot craps now we get to the awful potion of the complaint this transmission which is a MH7 is very expensive to fix $3,500.00 plus tax with a 30 day warranty I am like this can't be true but it is! I knew GM pulled stunts like this in the past in fact I knew never to buy the first year model of any GM because everyone seem to know that some things were not going to work properly. I would be over the top if you would replace my transmission which I think you should but some kind of help would be appreciated. Couldn't have almost bought a new one for what kind of investment I will have in this one! It's just not right. Why would you put something on a car knowing full well the chances of something happening to it would go bad. The people at the top are like the old politicians and you are so out of touch with ordinary folks do you realize that it will cost me over 10% of my yearly income to fix this car and keep my fingers crossed that it doesn't happen again! Any kind of help would really be appreciated. the car is under the miles for power train warranty but past on time. I know when you buy a used car you are responsible for any repairs but this is one I don't think anyone seen coming and it hurt's more than you probably know I don't know what to do right now. Please help"
