Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"Doubledown casino advertises itself as a "free" casino on facebook. It is solely for "entertainment" purposes only as no actual money is ever won. Customers do however, have the option to buy casino money for betting on the games. The normal cost for each million $'s in slot money ranges from about $1.00 to $3.00 depending on the size of "package" of slot money you buy. A typical buy is maybe $100,000 in slot money for $99.00.
The games are replicas of most casino slot machine games.
The problem is that "Doubledown" will take your money for purchase of the slot money then "rip you off" through various methods. As an example, I purchased a $99.00 special 2X's package last week, and played on it for a couple of days. I got out of the facebook site for several hours and at some point returned to the Doubledown game. When I left the site previously, I had somewhere between 135-150 million chips from the ones I had purchased and what was left of my pot. When I returned, there was only $24 million in slot money left in my account.
Another way they rip you off is when you play one of their tournament games using a set amount to buy into the tournmenant. When you click on the game you want to play, the amount of your buy-in is immediately taken off of your account. Many times the game will never allow you to actually get into the game you purchased. After a period of time the game will run out of time, and you are out the buy-in amount without ever playing the game. This is getting to be more and more the normal practice of Doubledown and I believe it is happening to many other customers besides just me.
When I try to go to their site to complain, all I normally get is an error message. I complained to Facebook the other day, and have yet to receive a response."
