Claimant says:
"Spectrum has been advertising--in the mail, on-line, TV etc--for Internet/TV/Voice/HD for $29.99 per month. When I called to sign up, a customer service rep told me that the offer is good only for new customers. I signed up with Time-Warner, Spectrum's predecessor, around a year ago.
However, this limitation is NOT on Spectrum's promotional materials. I asked to speak with a supervisor, and explained that Spectrum is engaging in false advertising. He gave me the same message. I asked if I could speak with his supervisor, and he said that he did not have a supervisor!"

    The potential customer is asking to be a customer and get a promotional offer for new customers, which arguably the claimant is or could be. This is an opportunity for Spectrum to get and possibly keep a customer long after the promotion runs out. The marginal cost to the company of doing so is far outweighed by the likely benefits, therefore Spectrum would benefit by letting the customer have the temporary deal, or at least offer something that may be acceptable.
