Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"My complaint is with Best Buy. On February 8, I purchased an Insignia flat screen television on line. I purchased Insignia 4034 Class 4034, Model: NS-40D420NA16 SKU:1729549, Diag LED 1080p HDTV Black which was $249.99. The television was delivered to me on February 10. I hired a maintenance to set up the television February 15 because I needed someone to set up the television and carry the box with the television upstairs to my bedroom. When the television was delivered, the UPS man carried the television in my home and left it in my living room. The first time I watched anything on that television was February 15 when the maintenance man set the television up. On March 11 I was watching the television and the television went black with no sound. I turned the television off and my Verizon router off and then on again thinking and hoping I would get the picture and sound back which I didn’t. Since I paid $20.00 extra to alert the geek squad if there was a problem I went on their on-line chat room and I was told to call 1-800-Geek Squad and that they could help me. I made the call and spoke to Malia. Malia informed me that I couldn’t get a new television nor my money back and that they only have a 15- day policy to return merchandise. I told her how I had to get someone to set the television up and that I only watched the television for 2 ½ weeks and if there was a policy like that, I still would have missed the deadline for the 15-day policy. This is so wrong of Best Buy not to give me a new television or my money back. Malia stated that the only thing Best Buy would do was to send out a repairman which is awful because I just purchased the television. They are sending a repairman to my home March 11 but, I want another television because something is wrong with the television I have and a repairman shouldn’t be working on a brand new television if the television was any good. I am scared to get another television from them because I feel Best Buy is taking advantage of people selling defective merchandise with a 15-day policy.   • I bought a flat screen television from Best Buy and after 2 weeks the television does not have a picture or sound. Best Buy refuse to give me another television. I have to wait on the parts to come in so a repairman can fix this television. This is so wrong, I want a new television. This television will not last a year if it need repairs already. BEWARE OF BEST BUYS PRODUCTS and their policies, they are not for their customer's benefit. Once they get your money they don't want to be bothered.

  • After watching my brand new television for 2 weeks, it went black with no picture or sound. Best Buy do not want to do the right thing and give me a new television instead they have to send off for parts and send a repairman out to repair my brand new television. Best Buy is selling defected products and don't care if customers want their money back or a new product to replace the defected product once they get your money. Best Buy is sooo unreasonable once they get your money. This is my first and last time buying anything from the company.

  • On March 10 Best Buy's repairman called and I told him I would like to have a new television and he said his supervisor would call me because I couldn't get a new television. The Baltimore headquarter called me and said that I could not get a new television set and that I had to wait on the parts to repair the television that the case was closed. The repairman said that they always have to repair the flat televisions when they are purchased. Not having a television set upstairs in my home make it so inconvenient going downstairs in the basement but Best Buy don't care as long as they got your money.
