Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"In July of 2010 I kept getting these automated calls about the home retention program so out of curiosity I called bank of america inquired about it was told how the program worked, eligibilty and requirements. That set off a bourage of events that I haven't been able to get resolved as of May 2011. It was my understanding if i get approved for the program an escrow account will be established. Well before the application process even got started BOA established and escrow account when I inquired as to why I was told because I inquired about the program an escrow account was automatically placed on my account. They used the information I sent in as requested by them and paid the balance of my property tax which I never ask them to do because in our area you are allowed to make payments on your taxes as long as their paid by May of the next year(so you get your statement in May and because of the economic conditions instead of paying your taxes in two installments you can go on a payment plan for ten months. Well I never got approved for the program and I can't get the escrow account removed either. I have lived in my house since october of 2000 and have always paid by insurance and taxes because of the amount of money I put down on my home. I went through a lot of aggrevation and tears about this because you never speak to the same person when you call the company, people have been rude, hung up on me, told me anything to get me off the phone (all lies) and a couple of times I was allowed to talk to a supervisor both females were very nasty never once trying to resolve this issue and the last thing I was told the escrow will stay on the account for the life of the loan even though it was set up erroneously and that supervisor hung up on me. Oh yeah don't let me forget to mention that I jumped through every hoop they told me to and paid back every penny they paid on my behalf was told several times it was going to be removed and it never happened. The last letter I got from BOA was Monday May 24th stating the reason that can't remove the escrow account is because there's a code on my account from home retention department and I need to call them and have it removed and that will take care of the problem well needless to say It didn't and now I'm back to square one. Please if you can help me I would grately appreciate it. All I want is to be put back the way I was before I inquired about the Home Retention Program."
