Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"Have a Warrenty that covers fading of paint for 7 years. After 6 1/2 years I filed a claim for fading on trunk of car. They said there was no fading and denied my claim. The estimator said it would cost around $900 to do. So beware of Auto Armor's Warrenty to cover fading and all their hype because they don’t back their Warrenty."

    ECP Incorporated appreciates the opportunity to respond to Ms. Tryba’s concerns. We aim for complete customer satisfaction in all of our customer interactions, and regret that Ms. Tryba was dissatisfied with the outcome of her claim.

    Ms. Tryba purchased ECP products designed to protect against surface corrosion, environmental paint damage and corrosion perforation when she purchased her vehicle in October of 2012. The surface corrosion warranty accompanying the product was in force for five years, and expired as of October of 2017. The corrosion perforation warranty as well as the environmental paint protection are still in force.

    ECP evaluated information that Ms. Tryba submitted with her claim, including photos of the damage and an estimate from a repair facility. As part of the claim adjudication process, ECP utilizes independent third party adjusters to inspect damages on vehicles. These adjusters are unaware of the warranty coverage so they are able to provide an unbiased opinion of the damage. An adjuster was sent out to inspect this vehicle. Upon receipt of the inspection report, we learned the damage on this vehicle was the result of surface rust and there was no environmental paint damage or fading present on the claimed areas. The surface rust portion of this warranty had expired. We were thorough in our claims process to ensure that we could honor Ms. Tryba’s claim if it was at all possible to do so. Because the surface rust warranty expired in 2017 and there was no fading paint damage present on the vehicle, we regrettably had no alternative but to deny the claim.

    While we are sympathetic to Ms. Tryba, we are obligated by the insurer who backs our warranties to adjudicate claims in accordance with the terms of the warranty.

Our warranties are backed by an A-rated insurance carrier, and are recognized as the best in the business. We appreciate Ms. Tryba’s past patronage, and regret that we were unable to pay her claim in this instance.
