Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"plaintiff: jeffrey wang(bill payer) vs. A.T.&T. phone company

--- ----ATT "rakes in millions a year stiffing unsuspecting customers" through --- ---- --
--- ---- ---- --- --- ---creative billing scams--- --- ----

I verbally cancelled my phone service on 06/01/2013, or thereabouts,but did not make a written request,nor did I receive a written ATT response confirming my STOP SERVICE memo. They never sent me a monthly statement so that I could review the bill for mysterious charges, overbilling, or fraudulent fees. They strung me along for 12+ mos, & last month I received a collection letter demanding a whopping $218.03 for calls allegedly made on my phone #,when I explicitly called them to cancel service!(I AM NOT AN ATT CUSTOMER!). I wish to open an inquiry/investigation into this matter(by att, or 3rd party venues(People Claim) , for a credit adjustment(rescind fraudulent charges for calls made on my phone line). SInce I have not received a response from them, much less a credit adjustment, I am taking this war to them today.
I wish to resolve this matter in a timely manner, as opposed to not receiving any response. Since I do not have a written record of cancelling to present as evidence in a court of law, I may be legally, or financially culpable for these financial abuses of theirs. They never sent me a monthly bill, hence they accrued these fraudulent charges w/o my knowledge, written consent,or permission! I have heard media reports of various phone carriers padding customer bills w/ mysterious surcharges & taxes, billing for incoming calls(legal in some states), but this is a first for me, billing people who aren't even ATT customers anymore!!! I do not think the word "apology" is in their vocabulary & my final assessment is this is not a good play from a great team, but an egregious handling of customer complaints from a multi- billion dollar telecommunication conglomerat. What goes around comes around, & this tasteless company has been going around quite a bit lately in the media news. I have read various legislative proclamations( Supreme Court?) that a 'corporation' is legally can be tried as an 'individual', but if that was true, people could sue these A*holes in court, but I don't enjoy the benefit of legal counsel, unfortunately( PeopleClaim!,thank god for the U.S.marines....)"

  • If I can discover, or read about any lawsuits involving a similar issue, & the disposition of those cases against the defendant(ATT), I will certainly cut the article out & scan it & post it to PeopleClaim, to see if there are any legal implications, or 'precedents' that could impact ATT.
