Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I hope this letter goes to the top of the command so they will know how we were disappointed with our travel experience on your airline. From Orlando the Miami was good. Then in Miami they forgot to put our luggage on the plane. We arrived in Portugal went to get our luggage and were informed that they didn't put it on the plane in Miami. Now Iam without my meds for 2 days because of this. I have heart meds I am suppose to take everyday, had none extra with me. Plus not anything to wear except what I had been wearing since we left Miami. Iberia gave us a travel kit that had some personal items in it and a pair of white short and tee shirt to sleep in. This is not satisfactory to me, I missed two days of touring and going out,so I wore the same clothes for a total of 3 days. Finally on the 2nd day we called because we had not heard from them. Our luggage was in but they were not sure how long before they could bring it so we ended up driving back (a 2hour drive) to get it ourselves. Totally mad and no one offered us anything. Now for the flight back. It was on the day of the strike in Spain. The 29th of Sept. 2010. We called to make sure our flight was going to be leaving that day. We were assured it was because it was International. We arrived at the airport the doors were locked. No one around. Finally the doors opened about 5:45am. We went to find where the departures were got in line and waited. They told us we had to carry all our luggage down to the plane to be loaded because their computers were down and they could not check the luggage in for us. We had 4 bags to be checked on because we had bought items to bring home with us. We got to the place where they scan for security and we had to put all baggage through there. This is what happened. They said I couldn't take my olive oil that I bought because it was liquid. I told them that it was not going on with me but in the cargo were all checked luggage goes. They still took it. Then they took a collectors knife that Jerry had purchased for 180.00 Euros. Even though it was not going on but to be checked. This is totally unfair how this was done. Even if there computers were down they should have still taken our luggage and sent it later. We would have our property if they had done so. I would have been home and my meds I would have taken extra on with me. We have our recepits for the knife. The olive oil I can live without but its unjust what they did in taking that knife and we want it either returned to us or someone to pay for it. We can even forgive the first part of our trip about them forgetting our luggage because nothing medically happened to me but not them stealing our property. I hope you take all into concideration of what we have gone through and make a fair determination of how you will handle this matter. Waiting to hear from you.
