Claimant says:
"I was stopped in Alsip Illinois 13, Nov., 2013 by the police. The officer told me my plate was suspended. After looking me up in the system he told me my license was also suspended. I informed the officer that I had paid to have my ticket brought back in court 8, Nov., 2013, In court I was not told about anything being suspended, I also told the officer I was a disabled veteran that gets paid once a month. He told me the township of Alsip would charge me $500 to get my vehicle back. They gave me a bond, and 2 tickets. gave me a court date to try getting my money back if I paid the $500. A court date for the tickets. I've been trying to claim my property from the car. I was told by the police station if I don't go to court for the money they would mail me a letter stating they were going to junk my vehicle, then and only then they would tell me who has my vehicle to call and try getting my property for the title to the vehicle. Once i received the letter I called the police department again, this time I was told I could not get my property unless I paid the $500."
