Claimant says:
"The Kirby Salesman, Daniel Spence, entered a 92 year old senior mobile home, in Marina, CA and convinced him to buy the Kirby Sentria II with the Shampoo attachment for $1308.00 on March 27th. This 92 year old man, could not even hardly lift the machine, much less be able to use it. He died 4 months later, and in speaking with the Inc., and hopes that being it had never even been used, and was still brand new, that they should come and buy it back from Andy's estate. In speaking with Celine, she stated that she would have to speak with her manager, and during this time, I did check the computer and find that they have had other complaints. The comment stated that "All Star Marketing Inc. Kirby Vacuums deceitful sales tactics, Fremont, California." Celine, stated that the family can do with whatever they want and they will not help. There seems to be other reports on the Ripoff Report also. The family would like to have them purchase the machine back from the Estate, if not, I highly recommend that they are given a notice, as NOT to pry on other senior citizen, ever again. I feel very strongly that there may be too much of this going on, let's get it stopped."

    The Kirby Company manufactures high quality cleaning systems, which it sells to independently owned and operated businesses or “distributorships.” These distributorships, through a network of salespeople or “dealers,” then sell the cleaning systems to consumer end-users via in-home demonstrations. As such, the relationship between The Kirby Company and the distributorships is that of vendor/vendee. All Star Marketing, Inc. is an authorized distributor.

    Since The Kirby Company is not involved in the retail sales of its home cleaning systems, we are unable to cancel purchases or rescind contracts between distributors and their customers.
