Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I purchased a duel fuel range from Goedeker's in early July. I have complaints with how long it took to receive, and the lack of communication from them...They did not let me know it would take extra time to arrive and I waited 8 weeks for it. I had to call them to inquire and find out what was happening.
But the real issue came up when I finally received the item only to see that what had been advertised was not what I got. It clearly stated on the main description page that this range had a "drawer" for storage. It does not...it's a storage compartment that one would need to get on the floor, on their knees to access any stored item. I have knee issues and it's impossible for me to access this storage. The drawer was a very important feature that helped me choose this particular range. I live in a tiny space - and need all the storage I can get!
When I spoke with 2 different customer service agents, they both acknowledged the mis-representation on the web page. I asked to return the item for a full refund, and they refused that option on the basis that it's a custom order. They offered $200 apology ~ clearly admitting their mistake...which hardly covers the $2000 price I paid for an appliance I cannot use. I believe that false advertising should trump any policy for returns."

  • The site specifically states storage compartment. This is what Smeg offers and we have no control over their product and it does not say storage drawer on our site. The customer is responsibile to understand what they purchase online and read the description. We did nothing incorrect and are sorry the customer did not read or understand the product description as shown on the product / http://www.goedekers.com/product/Smeg-CE6GPXU/24--Stainless-Steel-Dual-Fuel-Sealed-Burner-Range---Convection.html

    We would make a good faith gesture and refund the customer $200.00 although it was not an error on our part but rather the customers.
