Claimant says:
"Putting new tires on my car when not needed.
2February17: Just got back from Lexus dealer in Birmingham for 75,000 mile check up. Last check up was 18July16. Then tires were 6/32+ (no need for replacement). Told them my husband had new tires put on 11October16. Lexus questioned why since they were fine in July. He took car to Vestavia Tire Express, 1456 Montgomery Hwy, Vestavia, Al, 35216 because the dashboard tire light came on. He was told they should be replaced. He doesn't deal with the car checkups, I do, so he didn't know 2 months prior they were fine, so didn't question. He was also told he needed new brakes, for which he said he would let his wife deal with. (no brake light on dashboard, so just waited til this checkup. Today, Brakes=6,6,5,5,do not replace til 3mm)..
Went to Vestavia Tire Express today.. Was told they would never replace tires if they didn't need it. They showed my husband tires, he trusted them, and said replace them if they need replacing .
Lexus didn't think it was likely they would need replacing in 2,000 miles and 7 weeks (from July to October). Owner said tires could have had dry rot . Lexus said not in 7 weeks from last inspection.
I have documentation from Lexus last 2 inspections, mileage and dates. By the way, the dashboard tire light was still on today, because the spare tire had incorrect pressure, not because tires were bald."
