I take care of the maintenance of our Lexus. When I was out of town my husband took the car to Vestavia Tire Express because the dash brake light was on. They told him he needed new tires which were put on October 11, 2016. I have proof from Lexus dealer paper work from last 2 check ups that this could not be possible . July 18/2016, the tires were 6/32. Next check up, February 2,2017, the tires were still 6/32. When approached with the problem,Vestavia Tire owner,Bob Birdsong suggested, it could have been dry rot. "They don't replace tires that don't need replacing". Lexus said impossible in 13 weeks.
I realized all of this when i took car in for February check up. My husband was also told the brakes needed replacing. In February the brakes registered 5&6 mm. Lexus said the brakes don't need replacing until 3mm.
By the way, for the February check up, the brake light was still on, which is how I realized this whole scenario. Reason: the spare tire was low on pressure.

10/11/16 Vestavia Tires Express put on new tires, and told husband needed new brakes also
